December 17, 2012 Email

Hey mom,

So I know last week my email came in a little late. That is cause we were super busy last p-day, we went on a tour of a local damn. It was cool, but the guy that did the tour used all the big terms that he just asasumed that we knew, so we were all pretty confused. So, I know you want pictures and stuff, but since I moved areas, the computers that we use now dont have the ability to send them for some reason. They are at our bishops work office, so they must have some security on them or something. I will find a way though, dont worry.

Yes, I am very blessed to feel the spirit as closely as I am right now. I have seen a gigantic difference. As I go about my day, I am just ussually in a better mood. More things come to my mind, and I can control my thoughts better. But ya know, you dont have to be on a mission, while it helps, to have the spirit with you that much. As long as we will continually read the scriptures, and pray. As well as continually pondering eternal truths, as elder packer says, we will be able to have the spirit with us at all times. That is a challenge to you mom!!! lol

Yeah, we had our christmas programs and everything yesterday too. The Spanish branch actually put on a nativity, but it was unique. It showed the two sides of christs birth. it showed what happpend in Jerusalem, and the Americas. It was super cool actually. Great music, and great people. Yes, i have heard about the new curriculum, but I didnt really hear anything about it. That is a new way of going about it, i mean, I am used to it now, cause that is what I do every day. lol. It is just all about knowing the doctrine already, and then appllying it to the needs of the people you teach. So, I think this will be good. It willl force more members to know the doctrine better, instead of just speculating like we do in gospel principles lol. I like the idea, but I will have to check out the3 manual.

So, i actually already got Aunt Lisa's package. But hers is the only one that I got. Yours will definitely get here since you sent it through priority mail. As for gran grans, I have no Idea when it will get here, cause they cant forward regular mail. It will just wait in the office until someone grabs it on their way out to the west side of the mission where we are, and who knows how long that will take. So hopefully soon, but who knows.

AS for your questions.
I am eating really well these days. Last week we had a member feed us almost every day of the week. We are eating well, dont worry mom. A typical p-day goes as follows. Wake up, study for two hours, wash car, clean house, email, shop, and then play some sort of sport. Then at six o clock we go back to proselyting. As for today, we are going to be having a snowball fight, cause yesterday and last night we got like 8 inches of snow. It was absolutely dumping snow and it was awesome. I want to go snowboarding so bad right now, you have no idea. lol. So, by next week I will know exactly what time I will be able to skype you, just know that it wil be on sunday, and that some weird person in gonna invite you lol.

I dont really have any cool experiences from this last week, but I will share a little thought that I had. I was reading a talk from conferenceback in april. It is by elder Haleck of the seventy. I am not sure the title, but it has the word Vision in it. lol Anyways, he talks about how this life, is about how we are continually trying to change ourselves. He states that first we must have a vision of ourselves, how our savior sees us. Then, as we do that we need to decide on specific things we can do to reach that vision. Then we must act "Diligently, and strive to make choices that we wouldnt in the past to change our future." Or however he phrased it. So we must fully commit to being different and make those new choices until it becomes a part of us.

I love you guys so much. I hope you have a wonderful day. I pray for you every night!

Love,
Elder Cybulski

December 10, 2012 Emails

Hey mom!!!

Wow, It is always so great to hear from you. Yeah, it is pretty cold out here too. The mountains got some pretty solid snow on them, and the passes out of the wenatchee valley are chains required. Luckily, I will be down here in the valley for the next little while. The new home is really nice. We are living with a family from the ward. The Dices, they have a son serving in Brazil, and are ward missionaries, so we get along great. Our Ward is amazing! This ward is super missionary minded in everything and are soooo willing to help out, and it really does pay off. our investigators progress so much faster it is awesome. Yeah, we have a full kitchen. We just go upstairs and use theirs and stuff.

They is a great message that the bishop shared with you guys. Dad told me a little bit about it too. I will try to find that talk. Was it is conference? It is very true what he says. Some of the things that we are helping people though really starts with them deciding to accept the past and move on towards a brighter future, and this talk applies to that very well. we just need to let things go, forgive ourselves as well as others, and make consistent choices to change our selves.

So, skype will be on Christmas day for sure. That is the only day that we can do it. I am not sure what time that day, but hopefully I will set something up with a member soon. It will most likely be sometime in the morning, but I am not really sure. I will most likely be using the account of someone else, so you will have to look for the invite from some random person that day lol.

Well, everything here is great. We are teaching a lot of people right now. We have a lot going on with all of the christmas activities and stuff that are coming up. our stake set a goal to have 25 people baptized on the 25th (Christmas Day) and we are almost to that goal, so we are going to have an awesome day going that day. OHHHH, for now I would just start sending things to the mission office address. As long as it is priority mail they will be able to forward it to me, cause I havent been getting letters from anyone in the last couple weeks since i moved, idk why. So just send it to

820 s pines rd ste. 101
Spokane valley, WA 99206

That way it will for sure get to me. ok I Got to go. You guys have a great day. I love you all a ton!

Love,
Elder Cybulski

Hey dad, just a quick experience that I had while I have a few minutes left on the computer. The other day we were out in Cashmere, and we were walking around going to some peoples houses that are potential investigators. I had this ladies name that only talked to at her door come into my mind. So, I told Elder Barham that we needed to to to her house, so we did. We knocked on the door, and she let us right in. She opened up to us right away and let us know that she was having a rough day. We shared with her the book of Mormon, and the restoration. She showed her how this can bless her in her life, and how prayer can be a way to find comfort. Eventually she said that she would read the book of Mormon, and that she would start to pray about being baptized. It was a tender mercy of the lord, because if I had not followed that prompting, we would not have been able to help her. We had no plans to see her that day, but the lord did, and I was his tool. It is real testimony builder, and a true testament that the spirit helps us in this work.

December 3, 2012 Email

Hey mom,

WOW!!! Whaat an update. I am so sorry to hear what happened to Halle and Matt, but I am glad to hear that they are ok. Man, the Jeep looks super messed up. What is gonna happen with all of that. Did the bus driver take fault or what? What is the world made him keep driving and drag the car accross the intersection? I just hope that everything is really ok. I understand how scary that must have been. I am really proud of them though. They did what they were supposed to, and they stayed calm. Tell them I am thinking about them. And that I love them a ton.

So everything out here is pretty normal, i mean besides the change of areas. No, I am not with Elder Igleski anymore. I am with Elder Barham. This transfer is going to be a good one, I can just tell. We have a lot of solid investigators that want to be baptized. However, for some reason it seems like every person in this area smokes. We have to help all the people get over that. It is becoming a real challenge with some of them. Now, I have a ward to work with though, and they are great. The meal calender is pretty full, and people are super willing to come out with us. We cover a pretty large area actually, and we have to be really good at planning and preparing so that we dont use up all of our miles. I will put my address at the bottom, but I sent you a letter this week, you should get it soon. For christmas I dont really have anything that I really want. I would just say watches(Gshock and Nixon), Shoes, some brown ones, and like a scarf. That is about all that I would really want or need. So, that is really my update for now, I dont have very many experiences so far, so I will hopefully write about something from this new area in the coming week.

I love you guys. Take care and stay safe.

November 26, 2012 Email

Hey mom,

Man, It is so great to hear from you. It sounds like Thanksgiving was really great. Im jealous with all of the left overs. That was always the best part. We had a really good Thanksgiving. We had lunch with a less active member, and an investigator. Than we had dinner with our branch mission leader and his family. They are just super awesome. They are like the all stars in the branch. So don't worry. It all went well. I have not gotten any letters yet. So I will look for them later today when the mail comes.

I am so glad you are all being able to get involved in missionary work. It really builds the Lord's kingdom when there is member support, because we are only in our areas for a little while, and it is hard to get to know things as we move around so much. And that is such good news about Emma and Halle and everything. I wish I had more time to comment, but I have some stuff to update you on.

So, on saturday we had a baptism!!!! This is an amazing family that I have really grown to love. Two of the kids got baptised, so now they are all members of the church. I will send you pictures. I was able to baptize and confirm the girl a member of the church. She has such a strong testimony and it has already brought blessings to their family. We got our transfer calls last night. So I will be moving to a new area. I will now be serving more north in a town called cashmere. We have the branch, and a ward now. So my address to send mail to will change. I will send a letter to you as soon as I know my new address. That is about all that I have to update you all on. I will write letters today for other stuff. I love you all. Have a great day.

Love Elder cybulski

p.s. oh and I found star, did you let here run away....

November 19, 2012 Email

Hey mom,

So, We usually get to email at 11 o clock here, so as long as you get
the email sent before 12 i will be able to at least print it out and
write later. No worries to rush. Everything sounds great at home. Time
goes by so weird out here in the mission. Usually at home I would be
looking forward to Thanksgiving like three weeks before, but I am just
so caught up that I had to be told by a member like saturday that it
was this week, it is crazy. Yes, we have some people that we have
planned to see on Thursday, so you don't need to worry. Our Branch
mission leader has invited us over to have dinner. I'm excited to see
what a Hispanic Thanksgiving entails, cause they don't have that
holiday in Mexico. It will be fun but great.

Bishop is right. The spirit of service really is the best thing.
Before the mission I did service, and it felt good, but this is soooo
much better. memories are made every day. We have a baptism for two of
our investigators this saturday, and I am so excited. Oh, and I will
send pictures of the wedding that we had for our other investigators.
The lord is really at work out here in Wenatchee!

Well, yet again it is time to go. I love you guys. Keep Writing, and I
will too. I love you all. Have a great day, and stay safe.

Love,
Elder Cybulski

Then this is my Companion, and his goofy personality. WE are doing awesome. This transfer we have really found some awesome people. We have a wedding coming up this friday for two of our investigators, and we have baptisms coming up. The work in really moving forward since we started this new area. The only challenge is getting the member involvement, cause we can teach all day, but if the investigators dont have friend in the church, or they dont feel welcome, nothing is going to come from it. So we are just working hard. Our Branch mission leader is amazing, and our Stake President is really pushing us. He is pushing us to have 25 baptisms on the 25th (Christmas day!) He really whats a white christmas, so pray for us that we can do that.
Well, I didnt get like an attachment or anything this last email, so Ill wait for matts update. You guys have a great week, and write soon. I love you all, and God Bless!
Love,
Elder Cybulski

HEy mom,
So, today I drew the unlucky straw and got the dinosaur computer in our family history library, so I cant fit very much in an email. I am just gonna send lots of pictures, so get ready! lol The first two are of today! we woke up this morning to some fresh snow....

These three are things ive been eating. Lots of people go elk hunting here, so we had some elk for lunch. Some fresh home made apple juice (SUPER GOOD). Then there is a picture of one of the recipes that you sent me.

November 5, 2012 Email

Hey mom,

Yes, I got the Halloween package, and Elder Igleski really appreciated it also. He said,"Someone loves me!!!" lol. With only have till February left in his mission he doesnt get much mail lol. With all those suckers, we did some reverse trick or treating. We were giving candy to the people that we visited. Unfortunately, we couldnt go tracting on halloween, cause people probably wouldnt take us seriously, so we just visited people that knew us. I havent gotten the other package yet, but I am looking forward to it. Ok, with the fruit I sent you, make sure you wash it really well, cause they are strait from the orchards, and probably still have the bug spray on them that can make you sick. How does dad like the hot sauce? I am glad that matt likes the ties I sent, hopefully they arent too long.

I know exactly what you mean, the time is going by soooo fast. I've already been out for 4 months!!! It has gone by super fast. Sounds like everything is changing back home. Sports, seasons, and the weather. Its all just a little behind here. I mean, the weather is changing, but everything else is still moving along. Well, harvest has kinda started to end, so people are off work more. This has led to finding some awesome people, and teaching more, which is what it is all about. We are finally getting our investigators to come to church, which is awesome. We have a little family that should get baptized soon, and another getting married so that they can get baptized. I love this work, and I love my area. I could stay here like my whole mission.

Thanks for writing, and keeping me updated. I love hearing from you every week. Tell everyone else, that i will write them later today, since our church building is being cleaned, and we cant play basketball. I love you guys!. Write soon.

Happy Halloween yourself! I can't think of any girl Halloween characters except witches, and I didnt want it to come across mean lol. Ok, first off, dont think I didnt remember your birthday, cause I did. I sent you guys a package with some washintonian stuff in it. Some of the other stuff is just things that I dont really need that are just weighing down my bag. Gives the ties to matt. So I hope that you enjoy the package. So, with the gloves, I was really thinking about the underarmour ones, cause they are warm and thin at the same time. The white ones will work, but the black ones will be even better for biking. Don't worry about a jacket. I went to Ross last week and got a really nice one for like 30 bucks. It sounds like everything is just moving right along with sports and things. I'm glad BVW is doing good as I am not there lol. My senior year was miserable watching them lol. its ok though. Now I got bigger and better things.

So, as for me out here. Yes, it is super cold. It has been raining all this week, which was good and bad. Bad, because we had to bike, but good , because when it rains nobody can pick apples. Therefore, everyone is at home and we can teach a lot more. One of our investigators, Isabel and Lorenzo, are getting married on November 16th. They are getting married so that they can be baptized. Please pray for them so that they continue to have that desire as they move forward. Also we need prayers for this lady named Perla. Her husband absolutely hates us and we have a hard time teaching her cause he is ussually around. Please pray that his heart will be softened so that she can learn more, cause she really wants to know. Lastly, This family that we found is really awesome and they need support. Their names are Martha, Daniela, and Flavio. They just need prayers to find work. that way they can get a car and get to church and things. Thanks for all of the support guys.

Take care and write soon. I love you all!

October 22, 2012 Email

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the emails. Thanks for the support, and the package. The package seriously helped this week, since we are on bikes it is kinda cold lol. Yes mom, I will send you pictures! Yeah, as for now we are in that address on rosewood. I think they are looking for a new place for us, but as for now we are staying there. I will send you a picture of our set up. oh, I FOUND A CROC POT!

So, in our area we are having lots of stuff moving along. We havent seen much success yet, because we are still the first ones in this are, but we are working with lots of people. The members in the branch really want to help us. They dont have much to give or time to give, but they really want to support us as much as they can.

So, a normal day is wake up at 630. study till 12. eat lunch till 1. then proselyte till 4. Proselyting consists of visiting people that we have taught before, tracting down streets in order to find new people, visiting less actives, or going to appointments that we have. then we eat from 4 to 5. then we proselyte from then until the end of the day until 9. That is pretty much a typical day. Then sometimes we have meetings or other unique things that we have to be at, or service.

thank you so much for the update on sports. It really help, cause no one around here knows anything about my teams. lol Thank you also for the update on hhow the missionaries are doing with Emma, because I want to make sure they get in contact with her. She says that she really wants to meet with them.

So, I dont have much time, but thank you guys for everything that you do. I love you guys so much. I will write some letters later today. Take care, and write soon

Love, Elder Cybulski

p.s. can you send me my winter football gloves. I need gloves for riding my bike in the cold lol. Thank you

October 15, 2012 Email

Hey Every body,

So, I dont have tons of time today to email, so I am just emailing everyone at once. Today is transfer day! I cant believe that my first transfer in the field is already over! It went by so fast. Elder Igleski and I are not leaving to anywhere, we are actually the only two that havent seen a change in the area. Everyone else got moved around and new companions. However, now we will be part time on bikes. We will share the car with another companionship. That will be cool I think cause I havent even touched my bike yet. So that is what is going on today.

This last week was a really good week. We are constantly finding new people. However, we did find a lot of people this week that just wanted to bash with us. They always just focus on the one thing that they know really well. I have found that if they would just listen to what we are saying that they would find that we believe in something similar, it is just that we have a more knowledgeable view on of the concept. They are just super stubborn and dont listen to what we have to say to them.

No, we dont have a place to live yet. We are living in this ladies basement, and still living out of suitcases. I would share pictures of our place, but I dont have my camera on me at the moment. I will send some next week.

It is starting to get a little colder. We are in full suits now, and in the mornings it gets pretty cold. So we blast the heater in the car. It is ok though. I like the cold.

So that is my update for today. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

love,
Elder Cybulski

October 8, 2012 Emails

Hey dad.

Thanks for the update on everything. Sounds like football is going great. Matt is really improving. I am glad to hear that. As for conference...Since you guys had a game on saturday, I dont know if you heard the historic announcement that President Monson gave in the Morning. He announced that now Elders will be able to begin at the age of 18 and sisters at the age of 19!!!! It is amazing to hear a prophet of the Lord give an inspired announcement. It is amazing to think that we will have more missionaries soon coming out. Thank you for your thoughts on conference. I think my favorite talk was Elder Bednars. Probably because we were encouraged to go into conference with questions, and he answered my exactly. I asked "When do we know that our testimony has turned to conversion?" It was awesome to sit in the chapel to listen to every session. Especially priesthood, cause I know there is lots of work to do, and to get started right away.

As for missionary work back home. I would say, just let the missionaries know that you are willing to accompany them to lessons. When we have members in lessons the spirit is so much stronger, and their testimony truly helps. Also, new converts need a friend. when converts have people they know in church, they are more likely to attend and stay active, and that is the goal. So, just be as involved as possible.
So thats all I got for now. Now I got to write to mom.

Love ya dad,
Elder Cybulski

Hey mom.

Thanks for the email a ton. I really appreciate all of your insight in the conference talks. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE SATURDAY MORNING SESSION! President Monson gave a very historic announcement. I really did enjoy conference. It was awesome to listen to the talks that they gave through the eyes of a missionary. It was amazing to hear from the Lord's elect and think about how I can use those messages to help others.

We actually had some investigators come and watch with us. Dori and Johnny (last names excluded for privacy) came and watched Saturday afternoon. They are from El Salvador. They are awesome. They have the desire to be baptised. They just have a few problems to get over, so pray for them that they will be able to get over those things. We also saw our investigator Isabel. She is super into the church now. Her boyfriend and her are actually planning on getting married by our branch president. It is super awesome if they are able to do that, and get baptized, I will be able to see them go to the temple. It will be a cool experience.

So not much to report here. I think we are just going to stay in the place we are living for a while. I think the ZL's are moving. The address is 1038 Rosewood, Wenatchee, Wa 98801. So you can send my stuff there. We are just continuing to work. I love you guys and miss you a ton. Tell Matt thanks for the update on sports.

Picture from Wenatche, Washington

Smoke is so bad from the fires in the area the missionaries have to walk around with masks to protect their breathing.  No complaining though, the mission is great!

October 1, 2012 Emails

Hey Family,

Everything out here in Wenatchee is going great. The smoke from the fires is starting to calm down, but we still have it. I will send a Picture. WE have to wear masks since the air quality is so bad. They said that there is a rating out of 500 for the air quality, and for about two weeks we were at a 498!!! It is pretty crazy. Not really much to report, we just keep working.

mom,
No, we dont have our own place yet. No we do not have a crockpot, so we cant really cook. However, we just got a new Branch mission leader, and he is super awesome. He is making sure we have food every single night since he understands our situation. Whether we go to someones house or they drop it off for us. MOM, feed the missionaries at home!!! I now know how important that meal calendar is. Im glad that Aunt Lisa and Gran Gran came up to see you guys. What made them come up? Sounds like it was a fun time though. SEND ME PICTURES OF THAT BULLDOG!! lol Som, There are a couple things that I might start to need. There is no rush. My black and white knit hoodie, some sweatpants, a beanie, and I am not sure how you would send it, but my down comforter would be amazing to have lol. That is all that I can think of as of now. Thanks guys for all the letters, and the package. That tex mex chex mix was awesome! I love ya a ton. Write soon.

Halle,
Hey you. Thanks a ton for the letter. I hear you are making new friends in the church and stuff. Did someone new move in? or whats up. Mom said she met someone new too. Sounds like your CAPS stuff is going awesome. Did you get to work that game? Tell me all about it.About seminary, just remember that the new testament wasnt organized chronologilcally like the BOM was. That is probably why you are jumping around so much. But if you will do your personal reading then you will learn all the parable and stories. It will be aweome to know those stories. I wish I knew that more. Oh, BTW I am in Fourth nephi in my elnglish scriptures, and Mosiah 20 in my Spanish ones.... You better catch up lol. You asked me what the best memory is so far. I would say there are alot, but if I had to pick one, it would be this crazy white guy that we met. I t always seems like the white people are way crazier thatn the mexicans. He tried to give us a tv, and to teach us indian words. He waves at us everytime we pass by. He is just an interesting guy. One other thing. I want you to think about those colleges you want to visit. I understand that College is a thing to experience, but think about why you want to go to those schools. Is it for the school, or because they party alot? Just think about that before you make a choice. ok, Gotta go. Love ya

Matt
Hey bud! Sounds like school is going great. keep up the good work in class. Remember, if you dont then the football wont come either. Sounds like football is going great. Im excited for ya. Thanks for the updates on all the football. I need to know how everyone is doing. Who is ranked Number 1 right now? Hopefully the cowgirls can dial everything in and start getting some more wins. Keep me updated. Love ya bud

Love,
Elder Cybulski

Hey DAD,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It is pretty cool that your Birthday was on a P day, so that I could email ya. I hope the day is going good. Hopefully mom doesnt spoil you too much. What is she making for Dinner??? Yes, I do get to watch conference. Im not sure how much that I get to watch on saturday, but I know I get to see all on sunday. It should be a great weekend. That sounds like an awesome talk that Bro Lapine gave. Can he send it to me? It is crazy to think that Joseph Smith was in Liberty for six whole months. I cant even imagine the hardships. I was actually talking to Elder Igleski about this earlier, how the magnitude of their trials and our trials are the same, they are just different. Thiers were physical, and our are more spiritual and emotional. It is an interesting topic. Ok, so I am going to send you something for your birthday, hopefully you like it. I use it all the time here in washington with the mexicans. Love ya dad. Have a great day.

Love,
Elder Cybulski

September 24, 2012 Email

Hey Family,

Hey, So my P Days are on Mondays, and we ussually get on email around 1030 here time. I will get on top of that insurance stuff so that it can go back soon. You asked about packages that I have gotten. I have only received the one with jerky, pistachios, notebooks, and the mirror. The Packages take a while cause they get them in spokane and then they have to forward them to us. I would really like to give you my address, but we dont really have one lol. We are still sleeping on couches in the basement that the Zone leaders are also in. We dont have a home yet.... As soon as I get one I will let you know. We dont really have the ability to cook, all we have is a fridge and a microwave, so we are really dependant on sandwiches and whatever food we can get from members. Luckily for elder Igleski and I, mexicans love to cook and give their food away. So, all we really have to do is knock on doors, and someone will offer us food, and then we get a lesson out of it. Since we dont have very many members, we dont get very many dinner appointments.

Wow, sounds like football is going awesome. How is A&M doing? How is BYU? Keep me updated, cause all the mexicans here only watch soccer lol. So I need to hear from you guys in order to stay up to date lol. Thanks!

So I got your letter mom, about working with the member lady. That is super cool. I am really happy that you get to make accquaintances with someone daily from church. That will be a big blessing. Start converting that bank! lol Oh, About the mexican food. It is soooooo different from tex mex. I am eating like legit mexican food. I have already had cactus, tacos de lengua (toungue), Tacos de sesos, carne asada, and tons of tamales. It is super good. The one thing I havent had yet was Menudo. Dont look it up cause it is super nasty lol.

So here in the mission, the fires have finally started to move away from us here in wenatchee. We have to wear masks though, cause of all the smoke. The weather hasnt been able to cool down yet, cause the smoke is so thick. We have a bunch of investigators, our area is really growing. The only problem is that mexicans dont remember appointments or commitments, so we just have to show up lol. But it works out. Not really much to report from this week. Everything is going good. I just want somewhere to live so I can finally unpack.

Until next week,
Elder Cybulski

September 20, 2012 Letter

Mom,

Hey guys!  First letter from the field!  I emailed you guys about my area and such.  I love it.  The work is super tiring, but soooo rewarding.  I'm with the companion I need.  Elder Igleski is super awesome.  we get along and he is a great example.  He wants to train me as well as possible.  I am so blessed.  Our area is a little difficult, but we are ready to change that.  We want to increase all aspects here.  It will be awesome.

OK, I just had a couple of things I needed.  If you could send me my hard drive and a card reader.  Everyone just emails pictures since we have good computers here.  Then I can also save them all in one place.  Thanks.  I also need a small mirror, my ankle brace and basketball shoes.  That would be awesome.  Thanks guys!  I really appreciate it.  I can't wait to hear from you soon.  I didn't get an email this week.  My P-days are now on Mondays.  I love you.  Write soon.

Love,

Elder Cybulski

September 17, 2012 Email

Hey Fam,
So this week has been crazy. Thanks for the package and all the support. I really do appreciate it. It sounds like everything is going better at home. Im glad to hear that school is under way, and everyone is super involved. I know that you all have activities and stuff, but hey, almost everyone can drive now. So thats makes everything easier lol. Let me know how selling the truck goes. I wanna know how much we get for it. Ok, A quick update to the letters I got earlier this week. My eye is all better. There is no more redness. My vision is back to normal. The only thing is that I cant look all the way down with out everything getting blurry, but the doctor said that is probably just going to stay that way, because that is where the cut is. So everything is all better. I just didnt want to worry anyone until I new if the effect would be permanent or not. No worries there. Thanks for the letters everyone!!!
MOM,
You asked my opinion on the topic of the sabbath day. It is crazy that you asked me that cause we had a lesson on that this week in priesthood. My favorite scripture about that in is John 6. It talks about the fact that Jesus is the bread of the world, and that if we are to take the bread of chriist we can achieve eternal life. You asked me what it means to be worthy to partake of the sacrament. AS I have studied it, the only things that may prohibit us from partaking of the sacrament are sins that we need to discuss with a priesthood leader. When It says that we need to be worthy to partake of the sacrament it meens that we need to have already started the repentance process. The sacrament is not there to cleanse us. The sacrament is there to renew our covenants and to reminds us of our desire to follow the example of the savior. We need to repent of things before we partake of the sacrament. At least, that is how I understand it.
Dad,
Thank you for sharing the experience of matt being set apart. I am so glad that he is getting this experience. I think It will really help him to come out of his shell and learn to converse with other people more openly. It will help him to prepare for a mission because he will get the opportunity to council with others. Ok, so you asked about my ward and stuff. Well, I dont really have a ward lol. The Stake president is wenatchee just wants us to focus on the spanish work, so thats what we are doing. We are only assigned to the Spanish Branch instead of the Branch and a ward. We dont have a ward mission leader yet since only like 15 people show up to church every week. WE dont really have a meal calendar cause all of the mexicans here have terrible hours during the week. However, Mexicans are superwilling to give. I swear like every house we go to we get either a bottle of water, fruit, a taco, or a tamale. It is pretty cool. You also asked about my scripture for the plaque. I will send that later in this email.
Halle,
I was super excited to get a letter from you. I am happy to hear that school is going great. I might need you to come out here and tape my ankle cause with walking so much, the one that I broke hurts a little lol. I am glad to hear that you like anatomy too. That was one of my favorite classes. Legrotte is awesome. Just work hard cause it really sucks when you get behind in that class. I found that if I would just do a certain amount of work every night everything worked out well. My companion is way better that my roomate at BYU. Elder Igleski is the bomb. We are super alike, but different too. We work well together.
Matt,
Hey bud. Sounds like football is going good. Dad said that you are now the Deacons quorumn president. That is awesome man. It is lots of work, but I promise that if you take care of all of your reponsibilities that you will see blessing in the other parts of your life. I remember when I was the deacons quorumn pres. I did my job, and sports got easier and stuff like that. so keep it up!
FAM,
Ok, so idk if you heard about the fires here in wenatchee. but dont worry. I will send a picture.
ok, I dont have tons of time but I will put my favorite scripture down
Alma 37: 44-45
"...it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss...For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise."
So it is time to get off. You guys have a great day and write soon

Alex is in the Field!

Hey Family!!!

IM IN THE FIELD!!!!! ok, So I got to Spokane on last Monday. After we got to the Airport they took us straight to downtown Spokane to do fear busting. This is were they pair us up with elders that are in the area, and we just go out and tract for like two hours. It was an awesome experience. As you know I am not super up to meet new people and just start a random conversation, especially, about the gospel. However, i put my faith in christ and I just did it. We met some super cool people. We got bunches of contacts. It was awesome to get started on the work. As I was walking I remembered the Hymn, "Put your shoulder to the Wheel" and all the times we would sing it and Dad and I would bump into each other. It was a great feeling to finally be out here. Ok, so after that we went to the Spokane east stake center, which is right next to the Temple. It was cool. We did some training and had a great lunch. Then , more training and we went to the mission home. We got to have dinner and family home evening withe President and Sister Mullen. They are awesome. They feel like temporary parents already lol. They are super spiritual and love the mission work. Then we stayed the night at some members homes. Then we got up in the morning and went to the church building for more training, and to find out our areas and trainers. So They called me up for my turn to get my trainer. I am being trained by Elder Igleski!!! Everyone laughed cause we all knew the latinos arent going to be able say either of our names lol. We are the Polack companionship lol. So then we left for our area. We are serving in Wenatchee, Washington. We are actually in a brand newly created area. They used to have elders in the area that did both spanish and english. However, the stake president in the are wanted elders to focus specifiacally on the hispanics, cause the spanish branch is kinda struggling. So Thats us. We have like no leads, and a huge list of less active. so it is kinda unique because we get to set up all of the work for everyone else that will be after us.
Im super excited. I have already had tones of experiences. The Mexicans in the area are great. They are very open and friendly. They give us some awesome fruit, since most of them work in the packing sheds, or the orchards they have super fresh fruit. Its awesome. So, I dont have an adress to send stuff too quite yet, but if you want to send me something you can send it to the mission office. I will let you know as soon as we have a place of our own. We are crashing with the zone leaders for now.
I love you guys. Write soon!!

Love,

August 30, 2012 Email

Hey Mom,

First off, thanks for the email. Last week kinda stunk not having anything to email back about. But I totally understand tht you were at work, so dont even worry. Yes, I am very ansy to get to washington. We got a letter from President Mullens this week that said what our plans were for the first few days. We will go from the airport to the Spokane east stake center. There we will get all settled and do some orientation stuff. Then, monday night we will stay in the mission home. On Tuesday we will have a big mission conference and we will be assigned our new companions, and find out our new areas. So, I have no word so far, on where im going, but I will let you know.
Yes, feel free to post my testimony. the only thing they have asked us to be careful about is info about the investigators I have. Or info about anyone personal really. So, in the future you might have to filter some of that out. But yeah, feel free to post my testimony or any pictures that I send you. What kind of picture are they wanting for the ward bulletin? Oh, and dear elder still can come to me in the mission field, you might just have to pay for postage. I have asked, and that just depends on the mission. Some cost postage, and some are free so just check that out. Oh, and I also the MTC what happens to letters if I have already left. They will forward any letters or packages, the only thing they dont do, is forward dearelders, since they just print them out here.
Ok, now about here. This week has been super crazy. I have met some people from home actually, and I think even a realtive ive never met. So, I dont know if I have said this yet, but I found Sister Stahly here. We talked for a while. I didnt even know she was coming on a mission. She is headed to France which is super cool. Then, I ran into an Elder Yano. He is from the Red Bridge Ward. He has been at school for a couple years, so that's why I didnt know him, but it was cool to meet some one. Then, we were teaching in TRC, which is where we teach member volunteers. I met this girl who was volunteering, and she is from the Lenexa stake. Her dad is the Branch president for a spanish branch I believe, si she knows spanish. She is my age I think. Her name is either Carlin or Carli. I know that was really vague, but I only talked to her for a second. Ok, then the craziest thing was like fifteen minutes ago. I ran into an Elder King. He asked me if I knew a Steve Cybulski. I was like yeah, I'm pretty sure that's my uncle. He said that that was his uncle too, so I think we are like second cousins or something. He is from Jacksonville Florida, so you need to ask Dad if he knows any Kings or ask Steve about it. Then he said that he has a cousin that works here at the MTC, so I might even have another cousin that works here or something. This was just super crazy!!!
Not much to report from this week, I have been mostly focusing on getting out of here lol. I cant believe that two months have already gone by. It is crazy, but it also seems like I have eternity left LOL. ok, I love you mom, Thank you for all the letters and advice. I loved reading about your studies. You have a couple letters on the way. Love ya

August 29, 2012 - Family Letters

Mom,

Thanks soooo much for the letter today.  I always love hearing from you.  Don't worry, I am eating plenty.  Don't Worry!  OK, so I'll call Monday.  It will be pretty early in the morning for a vacation day, but I'll still call from the airport on my way to Washington.

I really do feel like my testimony has grown everyday.  I can tell the change in my life.  Yes, it will be harder in the field with all the rejection and not being around as many missionaries.  However, I know I can learn even more from my experiences.  I can't wait to teach real people and to get to know the amazing people in my wards or branches.

Thank you for telling me about the things you are studying.  I was actually reading about Shiblon too last week.  it is crazy how righteous Shiblon was during all of his trials and then in the very next chapter his brother Corianton falls at the first temptation.  However, he is mentioned only one more time in the BOM.  In Alma63 it says that he is a better person, and that he is serving others in his mission.  I think it just shows how easily we can fall and how easy Christ has made it for us to come back even when we do terrible things.

So, I wrote an email today.  I don't have much more to report.  Hopefully everyone is doing good.  I love you Mom.  I will call on Monday.  Take care.

Love,  Elder Cybulski

Dad,

Thanks for the letter.  I just love hearing from everyone.  I just found that bible and thought I would send it.  Don't worry about reading it since it is in Spanish.  I just thought it culd be a cool thing to have.

OK, so today I had another cool experience in the temple.  We did a session since it is our last week.  While in the celestial room I prayed.  I prayed because I've been having trouble feeling like as I repent, the journey to not commit sin again is all on me.  Side note, this week I read a talk by Elder Bednar called "The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality."  I recommend it, it's awesome.  He talks about the power that the atonement gives us.  In the temple today after my prayer I just opened the scriptures.  I'm a huge advocate of the "point-and-shoot" method to scriptures cause it almost always works.  Today it did!  heavenly Father showed me the perfect scripture to help me out.  Moses 1:21-22, just read it...

Tell everyone that I say Hi.  I miss you all a ton especially you dad.  We never got to say goodbye.  I sent mom an emai today so tell her to share it.  I will be off to Washington soon.  I will let you know where I am ASAP.

Love ya,  Elder Cybulski

Matt,

Hey Buddy, thanks for writing me.  Thanks for all the sports updates, I don't hear about anything unless you tell me.  It sounds like the Rangers are just killin' it.  I hope they make a deep post season run again this year.  That would be sick!  That stinks to hear about Jason Witten.  He was always my favorite except for Barber and Miles Austin.  I am happy to hear that your football is ging well.  Don't get too cocky though.  There is always room to improve, just remember that.  Keep working and you will eep moving up.  Keep writing me!  You are my only link to the Sports World.

Love ya, I'll write again soon.

August 23, 2012 Email

Hey family!!!!!
Second to last P-day in the MTC. I am so pumped to get out to Washington. We haven't gotten our travel plans yet though, so I have no idea what time of the day that I will leave. Hopefully I will get those tonight. Everything here is just cruising along. Classes, and more classes. Being zone leader is kinda stressing me out, cause it takes away alot of my personal study time, and that is the time that I look forward to the most of my day. However, it is a great blessing. I am learning so much more. I am learning how to inspire, and encourage the way that the Lord would. I have also seen how setting goals in our lives can really help us improve. We need to invision where we want to be in our lives, and then set specific steps on how to get there. And we need to WRITE IT DOWN! That way It is an actual goal and not an idea. Ok, so enough about being the zone leader. This week as been very different. Yesterday, we got to host new incoming missionaries. It was the biggest incoming of the year with 534 new missionaries all in one two-hour period. It was crazy busy. The MTC is now at full capacity!! I am so ready to get out of here, there are way too many people. lol ok, Now I want to say how awesome Mom was dropping me off here. We were like the perfect examples of how to do it. I know there was crying, but I got out, hugged and left. Seeing some of the families yesterday made it so much worse for the missionary. The entire extended family would be packed in the car, and they would all get out, talk to him, cry, hug, pictures, and then go. Then the family would just stand there and watch him walk away. Thank you for not making it any harder than it had to be. OH, on Tuesday night for out devotional we had Elder Niel L. Andersen of the Twelve Apostles come speak to us. It was soooooo awesome. One of the best talks I have ever heard. It was President Monson's birthday, so Elder Anderson pretty much gave the talk that President Monson would have given if he would've been there. He gave us 10 points that President Monson wanted us to know. I can't remember all ten points right now, but I will just say that every single one strengthened my testimony. one of the point was to never ever ever ever pass by a prompting that you get from the Holy Ghost. He told a story about when President Monson was a bishop. When he was a bishop, he had a member in his ward that was in the hospital. Bishop Monson was in a stake meeting, and he got the urgent feeling that he needed to go see this man. However, he waited for like ten minutes until the meeting was over, until he left since he didnt want to be rude to the stake president. Then he got to the hospital, and he felt the need to run. So Bishop Monson ran up the stairs to the man's room just as the nurse was putting the blanket over his face. She said, "Are you Bishop Monson...... Well, he was just calling for you". After that, President Monson vowed that he would never ever pass by a spiritual prompting ever again. And this story really touched me, and I have made the same promise to myself, because I know it could be the difference between someone's spiritual life or death. Ok, right now I can't really think of anything else to really update everyone on, so I'll just say I love you all. Thank you for all of the support that you have given me. I feel your prayers, and you thoughts. Truly, I do. I didn't get an email today, so I don't have much to respond to, but I will say this. I hope everyone has gotten the letters I have sent them. I miss everyone soooooo much. I know school has started and everything is super crazy, but just remember your Heavenly Father. He can help you through anything. All you have to do is ask. ok, Everyone, Have fun in all your activities and sports and such. Stay safe. I'm thinking about you always. Love ya!

August 16, 2012 Email

Hey mom!!!

Thanks for the email. I just love hearing from you and writing back. Yes, I did get the package. I got it yesterday actually. Everyone was so jealous and wanted some, so, as a missionary and working on my christlike attributes, I had to be charitable and share some with them. haha. Yeah, I did laugh when I saw them. They were a beautiful site. I dont think Ive had those since my birthday at school when you sent some to me then, They were wonderful. Thank you so much. My week is going great. I am busier than ever. This last Sunday, Elder Miner and I were assigned to be the new Zone leaders. The district that was three weeks older than us left on Monday, so we are now the oldest district in the zone, and the Zone leaders. Double responsibility... I know that it is super stressful, dealing with all the missionaries, and I have less time to study now, However, I know that blessing will come from it. I know that this is a great experience for me to have.   I cant wait to get to Washington. I want to start teaching real people. I know the practice in here is great and all, and everyone says they can feel the spirit when Elder Miner and I teach, but they are all members, so they know what it feels like. I want to start practicing with nonmembers so that I can really be able to tell if I am teaching the right way. Oh, about the calling cards. Yes, we are allowed to call home while we are in the airport. They sell calling cards here. So, I can just get one with the money I have on my MTC card that they give me every week. Or you can send me one. But, I would get one either way, because the phones in the airports are super expensive. I am not sure yet what time I will be at the airport. Some people leave super early in the morning, and others leave at night. We should get our travel plans next week sometime, so I will let you know as soon as I find out. Ummm, I dont really have much to update on other than that. We went to the temple again today, as we always do with our P-days. I have got a bunch of letters to write this afternoon, so if I think of anything else I will let you know then.

I want to hear from you all that you have already seen out of my mission. How has the family been affected by this. Good or bad, I would just like to know what is going on. Alright, I've gotta go now. I will write again soon. Oh oh oh, tell Matt to look out for a birthday card. Hopefully it will get there on time!! Take care. I love you all. And I love you Mom

Love,

August 14 Letter

Dad,

Thanks for the Dear Elder, I really enjoy hearing from you guys.  It sounds like USA basketball is just kickin' butt and taking names.  Is there anyone from the Mavs on the team.  I hate it when they only use big names, cause it makes it just a superstar show.  OK, question...has Mom been telling people I am zone leader or district leader?  Because I am only a district leader.  Well, that was up until Sunday when Elder Miner and I were assigned to be zone leaders. LOL  So now that is correct!  However, it is very different than it will be in the field, but good experience none-the-less.  The time is finally ticking down to to to Washington.  I am sooooo pumped; and nervous at the same time.  I've got senioritis going on a little bit.  Lessons are going great though.  Yesterday I had one of the best experiences yet.  We were leaning how to teach with the spirit as opposed to from the spirit.  So Elder Miner and I were teaching an hermana (sister) in our district who was acting as an investigator.  The investigator said that she no-longer wanted the discussions and it was up to us to feel the spirit and to follow the promptings wherever it lead us.  it was amazing!  I knew the question I needed to ask.  I found our her needs and I knew how to comfort her.  I almost started tearing up, and the investigator and the teacher observing were crying.  I've been struggling to know if my investigators have felt the spirit.  Now I know I can do that.  I can't wait to help real people feel that joy and peace.  OK. so my scripture reading is great.  I am in Alma 5 so I just read about Amelici and how he gathered his followers to join the Lamanites.  I like this story because it shows how some people in the world will simply follow others because they are successful and not for truth.  So thats where I am in the scriptures.  I hope everything is going well at home.  Matthew says footbal is better than ever.  I love you guys.  I love you Dad.

Love,

Elder Cybulski

August 9, 2012 Email

Mom!!!!

Hey, I got your email. It was great to hear from you. This week is going just great. We have gotten new investigatotrs, and we are just getting more and more busy. This week we had Mission conference since it was fast sunday. We got to hear from everyone in the mission presidency. Their talks were just fantastic. I didnt doze off once, because their talks were so engaging. President Brown (MTC) president spoke about repentance. He showed how if we are not repenting daily, then we are throwing away the gift of the atonement. The atonement was given so that we could use it. If we are to procrastinate the day of our repentance, than we are condeming ourselves, as it says in the scriptures. Then, I was reading in 2 Nephi 31 on Monday. I was reading about the "gate and the narrow path". I recieved a light bulb moment as I was pondering this that I would like to share. In this chapter, it talks about how we are to enter the gate and walk on a narrow and straight path. When I read this, I though about a park. I though about how some parks, we need to present a key card or something to get in, and that is repentance, or accepting christ. Then we have to get on this path. The path is our journey through life. In the scripture, it says a narrow and "straight" path. But in navigational terms, straight does not mean a path that goes directly from point a to b in a line. The terms means a path that goes from point a to b by any means necessary. So, I thought about a windy path that may have forks in the road, or needs to go around ponds or trees in the park. This really made it come alive for me, because I realized that I need to stay on this path to find the beautiful fountain in the middle of the park, or eternal life if you will. We can't always see it through the fog, or the trees in the park, but the fountain is there, and we need to make the right choices to stay on that path. ok, so that was my little missionarry moment for this letter. The rest of this week has been amazing. Constant meeting and such, but I am learning alot. I went all of yesterday only speaking spanish. It is hard, but I can do it. ok, so I am not in the same trio anymore. Last week we got switched up again because the guy that was going to peru got his visa, so Elder Sherman got moved. It is back to just Elder Miner and I now. I dont really have anything specific to say for the ward Bulletin. Whatever you put, Im sure will be fine. I will try to record myself saying my testimony in spanish. Can you send back that letter or something, so that I can read the same one so that you can follow along. Otherwise, I can just give it again. It might be a little different though. So, Today, we went to the temple, and we did sealings. It was super awesome to do those. The whole time I was in there, I could just think about the fact that the last time I was there, I was with you and Dad. It could just imagine my hand being on top of yours. It was a very special spirit that I haven't really felt before. The names of the kids that I represented are just sitting in my mind and I keep thinking about them. It is kind of weird to say now, but I can't wait to get married. The blessing in that prayer are sooooo special, and I want to have those with the wonderful daughter of god that I am meant to be with. It will be the best day of my life. ok, so my time in coming to the close. I gotta go. I love you mom. Take care, and keep letting me know how things are going.

love,
Elder Cybulski

August 6, 2012 Letter

Mom,

I got your letter today.  Thank you so much for the pictures!  It is great to have them with me now.  and thank you for the letter, they are like lifelines here.  I'll just jump right into it.  It is kinda hot here too.  it has been in the 100's, but it isn't humid at all, so it is bearable.

I'm glad that you got Halle into EFY.  It will bless her and she may not see it now, but she will look back on those times for inspiration.  I just wish I would have gone at least once.  Thanks for the update on everybody.  I appreciate it.

OK, so our teacher has told us to share our testimonies as much as possible in Spanish.  Don't worry about translating it, it will take forever, Here ya go... (the following may have spelling errors and lack of accents due to Mom not knowing Spanish and Alex's handwriting..lol...but the sweet spirit of his words will come through.)

Mom, I have learned so much since I've been here.  I can hardly believe it.  On Sunday we listened to a talk by Elder Holland called "Missions are Forever" or something like that.  It was given at the MTC, so I don't know if you will be able to find it.  In that talk, he talked about the power that we have as Missionaries.  I'll try to quote it, but he said, "This person has the Melchizedek priesthood.  This person gives up their time to serve.  This person is a disciple, and a tool in the Lord's hand.  This person has been set apart to be a messenger of this gospel.  This person works insane hours.  This person has the gift of tongues and discernment.  This person is endowed..." he keeps going, but then he says, "Now, who am I talking about?  You or me? "  Elder Holland explained that unless we are called to be a general authority we will never be more like an apostle without being one, than in these two years.  The only difference between an apostle of the church and a missionary is that they have keys to have stewardship over the church.  No other position in the church, except apostles, and the Prophet, have more power or responsibility than I do right now.  He also said that to think about the apostles while Christ was on the earth.  When Christ gave them the priesthood, he did not give them certain "seeing and revelating" powers, because Christ was there.  They didn't need to converse with him through the veil until after he died.  So, while Christ was on the earth, I, me, myself...I have the exact same authority that Peter, James, John and the others had, if not more.  This just kinda blew my mind and I thought I would share.

I love you guys.  Keep writing.  I gotta go.

Our District Leader - August 2, 2012 Email

Hey Dad.

So This week has been super busy. I got assigned to be district leader, so now I really dont have time at all. I am constantly in meetings for this and that. It has been hard, but I know it will bring blessings. I got to go to the temple again today, and it was awesome. I learn new things every time that I am there. I wish I could have gone with you and hear about your first time and things like that. But, I understand what you had to do. This week has really been kinda crazy though. We got another teach, so that means another 'investigator'. I say investigator, but it is just some one to practice with. I wish we could actually teach someone with real problems that we could help them with. So, unfortunately I don't have any cool conversion through the book of mormon stories yet. I have really been working on my knowledge and the ability to recognize the spirit though. It has really been a great week in the study times. I have felt the spirit more than ever.  My testimony of the BOM is growing every day. I love my work. I don't really have much else to report. Tell Mom and Halle to be ready for some letters that I wrote them. And tell Matt to update me on sports more. I need my current events. I am out of the loop here lol. ok, have a great day.

July 26, 2012 Email

Hey Dad.

How is everything going today? I hope work isnt being too hard since you just got back. I wrote Mom, so she has some info on me as of today, so I will just respond to your email. Unfortunately we have not gotten to hear from the twelve yet. The week before we got here 11 of the twelve were all here at the same time to train the new mission presidents around the worl, so we just barely missed that. And that was their last assignment before July. July is their vacation month. None of the general authorities have any assignments through July, so we have just been hearing from emeritus seventies and administrators. They have still been good though. the exciting thing is, that President Monson ussually comes every three months, and it has been four months since he has been here, so we are due to hear from him. I hope he is able to come while I'm here. Anyway, I'm super busy, and my time is up so I got to get off. Love you dad!
