May 28, 2013

Hey family,

I didn't get an email this week, and you had a whole extra day!!! what is up with that? lol jk

I hope that everything is going good. I keep hearing about those tornadoes that happened in Oklahoma, I just want to make sure everyone is safe.

So one cool thing that happened this last week, was that we got to go to the downtown Spokane library and go to their rare books vault. We found out that they have an original 1830 copy of the book of Mormon to look at. It was super cool to see, and to look through. The format is totally different, but the words are the exact same. I will attach a picture.

I hope to hear from ya'll soon. Take care.

Love,
Elder Cybulski

May 20, 2013

Hey guys,

So, Someone this last week told me about the tornados, and that they are down in Texas too. Is everyone ok. It sucks hearing about this crazy stuff like a week after it happens, but I know that Heavenly Father is protecting ya'll.

I will keep praying for halle. Tell her to just do all she can to follow doctors orders, and to use all her extra time to get in the scriptures!!! lol It will really help, I promise. That doesn't sound like fun being sick, but it happens I guess.

So, This last week has been a really good one. We had lots of meeting, and not much time to proselyte, but we got lots done. On Friday, Elder Molyneaux and I got to drive "BiG Ed", the transfer van, which seats like 16 people down to Moscow Idaho for Zone conference. We drove through WSU and the University of Idaho down there. It was way fun. Not many elders get to drive Big Ed, so it was a privilege. We also had 5 people in church with us this week. It was so great, and three of them are on date for baptism. I am really excited to see things start moving.

You guys keep asking what to send me, and I have been thinking about things, so here you go.
1. My GPS, with an update cause the roads here are crazier than Texas
2. My sunglasses
3. A cool Calendar
4. My shaker bottle, and protein powder
5. Garments (I like the extra support bottoms, and the cotton tops)

That's should be good for now. Tell Matt to keep it up. He is going to do great things, and be a great missionary one day.

I love you guys, Write soon
Elder Cybulski

p.s. this is me and my last companion elder Berg. He is kind of a weird duck, but it is good that I am too!!!

May 13, 2013

Elder Cybulski,

I want to start by saying thank you for making Mother's Day so special!  I couldn't wait to see and talk with you.  I got a little emotional after, but in a good way.  I love you so much son!

It was good to hear a little more about the area you are in now.  I won't lie and say I don't worry about you, but I probably always will when you aren't with me..."under my wing." LOL  I know the Lord will keep you safe.  I imagine you with this little bubble around you that the Lord provides missionaries when they are engaged in his work.  It keeps you safe and helps others realize your mission.  It keeps me from worrying too much and reaffirms my trust in the Lord and in his gospel here on earth.  He needs missionaries to spread the word of the gospel and they can't do that if they aren't protected, so he provides the mission "bubble."  See, it works...at least in my head it does...:-)

Oh, we have already made a call to the Bishop about the military scriptures.  He will get back with us this week about ordering them.  I will send them to you as soon as they arrive or may can even have them shipped to you directly.  I'll have to wait and see on that until I hear from him.  If there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know.  I feel like I should be sending you things, but just don't know what you might want or need.  I know you don't want a bunch of junk to have to tote here and there, so I'm just waiting for requests.  I know now...definitely no boiled peanuts...HAHAHA!!!

Well, after today, I don't have much to report on.  Just want to reiterate what a great Mother's Day it was today.  I'm lucky to have you for a son!  I love you and am so proud of you.  Sending love your way!

Your in my prayers always <3

Love, Mom

 Thanks for the email mom.

It was so good to talk to you guys yesterday. It just seems like yesterday when I was out in Cashmere for Christmas skyping you all. It is weird how time goes out in the mission field. I cant really describe it.
Mom, don't worry about the area. The nicknames and stuff make it sound worse than it actually is. I haven't really seen anything yet. It is pretty much like any other big city, nothing out of the ordinary, so don't worry. We are working hard, and I know that the bubble thing is really. I have seen it in action already on my mission, but that is a story for when I get home lol!!!

thank you for contacting the bishop, and I look forward to getting those. Cds are always welcome. Whether it be talks, or Christ like music, they are always good to get.

well, I look forward to hearing from you soon. Keep in touch ok

Love,
Elder Cybulski

p.s. This is a kid  named CX that we worked with to get to the temple, and my trainer Elder Igleski that came back to visit at the Spokane temple

May 6, 2013

Elder Cybulski,

Ok so I'm beginning this week's email with big news from this Texan.  Oh my goodness it snowed in May.  Yes, it did!  And it was 80 degrees outside the day before.  Freaky!  Last Thursday it snowed like 3-5 inches here in Kansas.  Of course after such warm weather the day before nothing stuck on the ground but it came down heavy with huge flakes but was super wet so lots of slush.  It's over for now.  It was 65 today and 75 predicted for tomorrow.  It has been a crazy spring here.  Ok, so enough about the weather...biggest thing going on around here...LOL!

I was talking to Gran Gran last night and she said she emailed you last week and got an email back from you.  She said you really sounded good and that it sounded as if you were really enjoying your mission.  I think she still struggles with understanding the significance a mission can play in a person's life.  It's definitely not something she has ever thought about doing.  We are very different in that respect.  I think it would be so great.  I hope I get to do something like it someday, if not a full mission, maybe a trip with Kelly Lineback to Honduras or something.  The thought of helping others and the focus you get from doing something not of yourself sounds so appealing.  It makes a real impact on your life and gives great perspective to our otherwise self-endulged lives.  I'm sure you can attest to that.

So, tell me, how is Samuel?  A couple of weeks ago you wrote about getting him to come to church.  With his past, making a change can be difficult.  I was just wondering how he was doing. I'm sure you are making more progress in your area now.  I could hear the worry in your email that it might be difficult to restart the area.  That's why they put you there son!  Just know that you are the missionary that the Lord needs in that area to revitalize the efforts.  You are feeding his lost sheep and bringing them back to his fold.

How is life with your new companion?  Learning more patience? :-)  Each companion will teach you so much.  Learn to love them for what they teach you.  You are learning so much about others and about yourself on your mission, all of which will serve you well the rest of your life.  BTW I need a new pic of you and your new companion!

Also, I need information about when I will get to talk to you on Sunday!

How are you doing on money?  Your account looks a little low, even though you don't use it much.  I'll try to put a little in it this week for emergencies or whatever you might need.  I love you son and can't wait to see you soon!!!

Love,

Mom

Hey mommy,
Good to hear from you guys this week. This week has been so great. We got transfer calls last night, but I will update you on those at the end just to build the suspense lol.
That is so crazy that you guys got snow. out here it is like 80 degrees solid, and I am starting to get tan from bike riding, and people comment on it lol. I even have a tan line from my watch and ring, so i am trying to wear my watch on the left hand, but It just feels weird, and I cant write well without it, so it is really bad lol.
I sent gran gran a letter today, about my mission actually. It is funny that you brought that up. I have realized that I have always been scared to ask certain questions, but I am not anymore. She mike ask you something about it, but I pretty much just bore my testimony, and reminded her of the spirit that she felt at christmas on skype.
Samuel, is kind of on the back burner right now, cause he is just way too busy, and dealing with some family stuff, but I appreciate you asking. He is a great guy, and someone that will eventually be baptized, it is just a matter of when. He is still reading and praying though. However, we have this kid named wes that is on date for baptism. His grandma is a member of the church, but he isnt. He will definitely get baptized in a couple of weeks.
As for my companion, we are doing great now. He took a while, but he finally opened up and started acting like himself, so we are good now. He just doesnt like change, so it was hard for him. I will email you a picture of us next week.
Ok, now for the big news. Transfer calls.................. For this next transfer I am going to be in the Spokane west zone. I am moving pretty far away from wenatchee which makes me a little sad, but it is ok. I will be a zone leader out there. I think the name of my area is in a city called Airway Heights. It is by the airport in Spokane. I dont know any missionaries out there, cause they are all english speaking. I am excited for the change, but a little nervous. So, I dont know what to tell you about the skype situatioon for sunday, but What you can do is mailme a letter quickly with your skype info in it , and I can just call that info. I dont know my new companion, so I am assuming he is setting it up at someones house.
I had an idea the other day. The guy that we live with has tons of books, and some gospel ones that I want to read eventually. I am going to list them, but it is just so that if you see them you can get them. You dont have to mail them to me or buy them right away.
"Worth of a soul"
"Archaeology and the Book of Mormon"
"Christ and the New Covenant" -Holland
"Mormon Doctrine"
"Act in Doctrine" -Bednar
"Miracle of Forgiveness"
"The life and stories of Porter Rockwell"
I love you guys, and i will talk to you on sunday. Write soon. And tell halle there is a letter on the way for the one that got lost in the mail.
Love,
Elder Cybulski
p.s. this was my district last transfer
p.p.s. This board was empty when I got to the area, now look at it
